President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani. It was reported that global and regional issues were discussed during the conversation.
According to a statement released by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, “The leaders discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Iraq, as well as regional and global issues.”
The statement continued:
During the call, President Erdoğan stated that Türkiye and Iraq will continue to take steps to develop their relations in many areas, particularly trade, and emphasized that increasing cooperation in the fight against terrorism would be beneficial for both countries.
