Indian Government Source: Despite U.S. Pressure, Russian Oil Will Continue to Reach Asian Markets

It was emphasized that despite pressure from the United States and rising tensions in the Middle East, Russian oil will continue flowing to Asian markets.

A source from the Indian government stated that Russian oil would keep reaching Asian markets despite U.S. pressure.

Speaking to Sputnik, the Indian source underlined that tensions in the Middle East have positively affected expectations regarding Russian oil.

The source also noted that China has increased its purchases of Russian oil.

In January, according to ship-tracking data, India increased its oil imports from the Middle East, which accounted for 55 percent of its total supply.

Oil analysts believe that Russian oil could be India’s most profitable option to cope with rising prices resulting from tensions between Iran and the United States and Israel.
