According to a statement from the Iranian presidency, solutions to end the war were discussed during a phone call between Masoud Pezeshkian and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Pezeshkian stated that they appreciate Türkiye’s stance condemning the attacks against Iran.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said they value Türkiye’s position condemning the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, as well as the solidarity shown by the Turkish people.
According to a written statement from the Iranian presidency, Pezeshkian and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation, during which they exchanged views on possible solutions to end the war.
Pezeshkian thanked several friendly and neighboring countries for their efforts to stop military aggression against Iran, stating: “We appreciate Türkiye’s stance condemning the brutal attacks against Iran and especially the remarkable solidarity of the Turkish nation with Iran.”
Emphasizing that the temporary ceasefire agreement reached between Iran and the United States—also involving Israel—should cover all fronts in the region, including Lebanon, Pezeshkian said:
“Israel’s actions aim to ignite a wider conflict in the region. Islamic countries must stand in solidarity against the war-mongering of the Zionist regime and its threats to regional stability and peace.”
He added that the international community and Islamic countries must exert pressure on the United States and Israel to stop acts of aggression and crimes targeting regional countries, particularly Lebanon.
Pezeshkian also noted that Iran accepted the ceasefire in order to preserve regional stability and prevent the escalation of conflict, stressing that “the continuation of the ceasefire depends on the other side genuinely fulfilling its obligations.”
