Kremlin: Putin Conveyed His Proposals on Resolving the Iran Crisis to Trump

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Vladimir Putin has already presented his proposals regarding a resolution to the Iran crisis to U.S. President Donald Trump, adding that Russia is ready to help reduce tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking at a press briefing today, Kremlin spokesperson Peskov responded to questions about current international developments.

Asked what proposals Russia had put forward to resolve the Iran crisis, Peskov said:
“For now, it is not possible for us to disclose the details, and we do not even have such an intention. Our president (Putin) has conveyed these proposals to his counterpart (Trump). We will see how the approval process develops.”

The Russian official also emphasized that his country is ready to do its best to help resolve the situation and would be pleased to contribute.

“However, as you know, this requires broad understanding and compromise, so we will need to be a little patient,” he said.

Peskov also recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had proposed several options to help ease tensions through mediation both at the beginning of the conflict and even before it started.

“As the president stated yesterday, many of these proposals are still on the table,” he noted.

Other key points from Peskov’s statements:

  • Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump did not discuss in detail the sanctions imposed by the United States on Russian oil.

  • Trump’s decision to lift restrictions on Russian oil for certain countries is an attempt to stabilize conditions in global markets.

  • The United States did not impose a ceasefire condition on Russia before continuing negotiations on Ukraine.

  • A concrete date and location for Ukraine negotiations have not yet been determined.

  • White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff remains in constant contact with Russian counterparts, allowing signals to be conveyed on the most sensitive issues.

  • The trilateral format should continue. Everyone is interested in this, and most importantly, the Americans are ready to continue mediation efforts.

  • President Vladimir Putin attaches great importance to these mediation efforts, and Russia is grateful and interested in ensuring that the process continues.
