Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov is making statements regarding developments in Russian diplomacy in 2025.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia continues to occupy a place in the minds and plans of European leaders.
Speaking at a press conference assessing developments in Russian diplomacy in 2025, Lavrov said that all rules on the world stage have been erased, emphasizing that a game in which “might makes right” is now being played.
Lavrov described U.S. President Donald Trump’s policy of unilaterally setting the rules of behavior on the global stage as “a shock for Europe.”
“We Are Observing Profound Changes in the Entire World Order”
Other key remarks by Lavrov include:
🔴 It is highly significant that over the past 10 years the West has actively opposed the fundamental and original interpretation of international law with the concept of a “rules-based world order.” It is equally significant that this term has now fallen completely out of use.
🔴 The West is free to speak among itself “according to rules,” but Russia will engage in dialogue on the basis of equality.
🔴 The need to establish a Palestinian state remains important, including in the context of Trump’s “Peace Council” initiative.
🔴 It was hard to imagine that the Greenland debates would call NATO’s very existence into question.
🔴 NATO is seriously preparing for war with Russia.
🔴 In Japan, open discussions about amending the constitution and reconsidering the country’s non-nuclear status have intensified.
🔴 All rules on the global stage have been overturned; a game of “might makes right” is being played.
🔴 The United States has crudely attacked Venezuela and is also threatening other Latin American countries.
