Netanyahu: Ceasefire could collapse at any moment; we back Trump’s Iran blockade decision

According to Israeli media reports, Benjamin Netanyahu said at the start of today’s cabinet meeting that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States “could change in an instant.”

Netanyahu stated that U.S. Vice President JD Vance briefed him on his way back from talks with Iran in Pakistan.

Expressing support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a naval blockade on Iranian ports, Netanyahu said the two sides are “in constant coordination.”

According to a statement published on the Israeli Prime Minister’s official channels, Netanyahu emphasized that “the ceasefire with Iran could end at any moment” and noted that he fully supports Trump’s decision regarding a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz:

“Since Iran violated the rules, President Trump decided to impose a naval blockade on them. We, of course, support this determined stance and remain in continuous coordination with the United States.”

Responding to claims that his relations with Trump are strained, Netanyahu said, “The claims that there is a disagreement between us are completely false,” adding:

“On the contrary, the opposite is true. Everyone present in these discussions and in our daily talks with the president and his team can confirm this.

There has never been this level of coordination before—neither in Israel’s history nor in the history of the Jewish people.”

Claims Iran violated the ceasefire

Netanyahu also stated that the Americans “cannot tolerate Iran’s clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.”

He further said that, according to him, Vance conveyed that the United States’ top priority is “the elimination of all enriched materials and ensuring that no enrichment takes place inside Iran for the coming years, possibly for decades.”
