Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that even if the Iranian government does not collapse, it will have been significantly weakened following the attacks carried out together with the United States. Netanyahu also stated that attacks against Lebanon would intensify.
The Israeli Prime Minister claimed that the strikes launched against Iran with the United States would have considerably weakened the Iranian leadership, even if they do not succeed in overthrowing the government.
Speaking at his first online press conference after the attacks that began on February 28, Netanyahu said they had inflicted major damage on Iran by targeting nuclear and ballistic missile facilities.
“We have formed new alliances; attacks on Lebanon will increase”
Netanyahu argued that Israel had achieved significant successes thanks to its military cooperation with the United States, describing the developments as a “historic turning point.” Responding to a question about the disarmament of Hezbollah and whether Israel’s occupation in Lebanon would become permanent, Netanyahu said that attacks on Lebanon would be intensified.
Netanyahu also stated that weeks before the attacks on Iran, Israel had formed “new alliances that would previously have been unimaginable.”
Meanwhile, Netanyahu also referred to the ongoing corruption case against him, arguing that Israeli President Isaac Herzog should pardon him. He claimed that Herzog should “put an end to the judicial theater” concerning his case.
