Oman’s Foreign Minister said that during the third round of negotiations between Iran and the United States, which began today in Geneva, both sides were “open to new solutions and have created fair conditions that support progress.” The Omani minister also noted that the talks had been paused for a short time.
Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi stated that discussions in the third round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States are proceeding carefully, adding that negotiators are open to new and creative ideas and solutions.
According to Oman’s official news agency Oman News Agency (ONA), Busaidi met with Jared Kushner, adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, and Trump’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
“Iran and the U.S. Open to New Solutions”
During the meeting, Busaidi said the parties reviewed the Iranian side’s views and proposals, as well as questions and responses from the U.S. negotiating delegation regarding key elements of Tehran’s nuclear program. They also discussed the technical and verification dimensions of the file and the guarantees required to secure the desired agreement.
The Omani minister stated that the Iranian and U.S. delegations are, in an unprecedented manner, open to new and creative ideas and solutions, and have established conditions that support progress and could lead to a fair agreement backed by sustainable guarantees.
Talks Paused
The third round of Omani-mediated nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States began today in Geneva, Switzerland.
The indirect talks, conducted through the exchange of messages under Omani mediation, are being held at the residence of the Omani Embassy in Geneva.
In a statement posted on social media, Busaidi said the third round of talks had been paused for several hours, adding:
“Today in Geneva we engaged in a creative and positive exchange of ideas, and now both the U.S. and Iranian negotiators have taken a break. We will resume discussions later today. We hope to make further progress.”
