President Erdoğan stated, “With its strong foreign policy, economy, military capacity, and strengthened internal unity, Türkiye will overcome every challenge with honor.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the “AK Party Headquarters 2026 Iftar Gathering” held at the AK Party Congress Center.
“We, as a nation, wish for our neighbors what we wish for ourselves. At no point in our history have we remained indifferent to the fires burning in our neighbors’ homes,” Erdoğan said, continuing as follows:
“We stand on the side of peace. We want the bloodshed to stop, the tears to cease, and for our region to finally attain the lasting peace it has long yearned for. Especially during this blessed month of Ramadan, we do not wish to see conflict, war, tension, or massacres right next to us. Our stance regarding the unlawful attacks targeting Iran is shaped by this understanding. Iran is our neighbor. The Iranian people, with whom we have lived in peace since 1639, are our brothers and sisters just like the other peoples of the region. For centuries, we have lived side by side in peace. God willing, we will continue to live alongside our Iranian brothers and sisters in peace and tranquility for many more centuries. Our priority is to secure a ceasefire and open the door to dialogue. If the necessary intervention is not made, the conflict process will have serious consequences for regional and global security. No one can bear the economic and geopolitical uncertainties such a process would create. Therefore, the fire must be extinguished before it grows further.”
‘Let Our Nation Continue to Trust Us and Its State’
Erdoğan emphasized that in this sensitive period, all necessary measures concerning the country’s and citizens’ security have been taken, that no possibility is being overlooked, and that every development is being carefully analyzed.
Addressing citizens, he said, “Let our nation continue to trust us and to trust its state. Türkiye is safe under the leadership of experienced, prudent, competent, and seasoned cadres in crisis management.”
Stating that, as with all other crises in the region, they would steer Türkiye safely through these turbulent waters, Erdoğan concluded:
“With its strong foreign policy, strong economy, strong defense industry, strong military capacity, and above all, its strengthened internal unity, Türkiye will, God willing, overcome every challenge with honor. Let no one worry. With God’s permission, the future belongs to Türkiye. The future belongs to our noble nation of 86 million people. As long as we act in unity and solidarity. As long as we set aside our differences of opinion, sect, disposition, and origin, and preserve our determination to build a brighter, happier, and more prosperous future together. May God grant permanence to our unity and solidarity. May God protect our country, our nation, and our region from all kinds of calamities. With these thoughts, I once again extend my congratulations for the blessed month of Ramadan.”
