U.S. President Donald Trump made harsh remarks targeting NATO countries in posts shared on his Truth Social account, including strong criticism of the United Kingdom and France.
Trump used striking language in his message, stating: “You will have to learn to fight on your own. The United States will not be there to help you anymore.” Addressing France directly, he added: “You did not open your airspace for planes heading to Israel. The United States will never forget this.”
In another statement, Trump said:
“Countries that cannot obtain jet fuel due to the Strait of Hormuz—such as the United Kingdom, which refused to take part in eliminating the Iranian leader—I have a suggestion for you.”
“First, buy from the United States—we have plenty. And second, gather some courage, go to the Strait, and get it yourselves.”
“You will need to learn how to fight on your own. The U.S. will no longer help you, just as you did not help us.”
“Iran has been devastated. The hard part is over. Go get your own oil!”
‘The country called France—The U.S. will not forget’
Trump followed up with another post addressing France:
“The country called France did not allow planes carrying military equipment to Israel to pass through its airspace.”
“France was of no help regarding the ‘Butcher of Iran,’ who has now been successfully ‘eliminated.’”
“The United States WILL NOT FORGET!!!”
