Turkish President Erdoğan: I Heartily Congratulate Aliyev and Pashinyan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who were among this year’s recipients of the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, in a video message sent to the award ceremony. Erdoğan stated that Türkiye sincerely supports all initiatives focused on peace, stability, prosperity, and security in the region and around the world.

President Erdoğan sent a video message to the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity program.

Expressing his great pleasure in conveying the greetings of Türkiye’s 86 million people, Erdoğan said that he hoped the awards, which have been presented since 2019, would contribute to peace and stability around the world, especially in these challenging times.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate Azerbaijani President Mr. Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Mr. Nikol Pashinyan, who have been deemed worthy of this year’s awards,” he said.

President Erdoğan continued his message as follows:

“I would like to particularly emphasize that I find both the courageous steps taken by my brother Ilham Aliyev on the path toward establishing lasting peace, and the determined will demonstrated by Mr. Pashinyan, extremely valuable. I believe that with the agreement—whose purpose, scope, wording, and spirit have been mutually agreed upon by both sides—entering into force, a brand-new chapter will open in the future of the Caucasus. As Türkiye, we sincerely support all initiatives centered on peace, tranquility, prosperity, and stability in our region and across the world. We will, God willing, continue to do whatever falls upon us to ensure lasting peace in the Caucasus and to play an active role in building friendship bridges based on fairness.”

Congratulating both Azerbaijani President Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan once again, President Erdoğan wished that the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity would bring benefits to all humanity.
