U.S. Reconnaissance Aircraft Spotted Near Iranian Borders

A U.S. Boeing P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft and an MQ-4C Triton unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) were detected near the Iranian border.

Sputnik reported, based on an analysis of open-source flight data, that a U.S. Navy Boeing P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and a Northrop Grumman-produced MQ-4C Triton UAV conducted flights near Iran’s borders yesterday.

The Boeing P-8A Poseidon took off from a base in Bahrain, circled over the Strait of Hormuz, and then returned to its base. Meanwhile, the UAV departed from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and flew over the Gulf of Oman.

U.S.–Iran Tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump previously stated that harsh military measures could be taken against Tehran due to Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Although Washington says diplomatic contacts are ongoing, military preparations on the ground appear to be accelerating.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that in the event of an attack on the country, U.S. bases in the region could be targeted.

The Iranian government emphasizes that its defense capabilities are strong and that it is prepared for any potential intervention.
