Venezuela’s National Assembly Speaker Jorge Rodríguez said that there will be no immediate elections in the country “as long as political stability is required.”
Jorge Rodríguez, who is also the brother of Venezuela’s interim administration leader Delcy Rodríguez, told U.S.-based Newsmax that “no immediate election is planned as long as political stability is needed.”
The statement came more than a month after the United States allegedly captured and removed Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro from office.
Delcy Rodríguez Appointed
Following the capture and removal of Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces, Venezuela’s Supreme Court appointed Delcy Rodríguez as the country’s interim president, and she assumed control of the government. The appointment was also backed by the Venezuelan military.

The new administration swiftly approved economic regulations, particularly reforms in the oil sector. According to some analysts, these steps could lead to significant changes.
