U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth: ‘Troops Aged 30 and Over Will Undergo Testosterone Screening’

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has announced that service members aged 30 and older will undergo mandatory testosterone screening as part of their annual health examinations. Hegseth also emphasized in a video message that the test will be required.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that all military personnel aged 30 and above will be screened for testosterone deficiency during their annual medical checkups.

In a video shared on the social media platform X under the title “Department of High Testosterone,” Hegseth said that testosterone deficiency screening would become a mandatory component of annual health assessments for service members aged 30 and older.

Hegseth noted that testosterone levels naturally decline with age and said the initiative aims to identify testosterone deficiency early, helping military personnel perform their duties at their highest level.

He added that service members under the age of 30 may also request the screening if they wish. If low testosterone levels are detected, those affected will have the option to begin testosterone replacement therapy, should they choose to do so.
