On 12 January 2026, at the Vienna International Centre, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, met with Driss El Hadani, Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).
During the meeting, potential areas of cooperation between the Organization of Turkic States and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs were discussed, including capacity building, satellite technologies, space applications for sustainable development, and the peaceful uses of outer space.
Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev emphasized that the growing interest of the Turkic States in science, innovation, and advanced technologies constitutes an important component of the member states’ broader development strategies.
