US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to establish the “US Space Academy”, aimed at training soldiers, engineers and civilian specialists who will work in the space sector. The location and further details of the academy are expected to be determined in the coming period.
During his visit to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Trump said the United States needs a highly qualified workforce to achieve its goals in space.
“It is clear that we need to train and develop the next generation of talented soldiers, engineers, civilian operators and other specialists to accomplish what we need to do,” Trump said before signing the executive order establishing the new academy.
Location of the Academy Has Not Yet Been Determined
Trump did not provide detailed information about the future of the US Space Academy, but said a decision on where the academy will be established would be made very soon.
The new academy is expected to train the human resources needed to strengthen the United States’ military and civilian capabilities in the space sector.
