Macron: France Is Providing Two-Thirds of All Intelligence to Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron said that France has taken over the role of the United States in providing intelligence to Ukraine. The French leader also stated that “Europe should, in the short term, possess a weapon similar to Russia’s Oreshnik.”

President Macron said that France has replaced the United States in supplying intelligence to Ukraine in the context of the conflict.

Pointing out that until a year ago Ukraine was heavily dependent on U.S. intelligence capabilities, Macron emphasized that today France provides two-thirds of all intelligence supplied to Ukraine.

Addressing soldiers at the Istres–Le Tubé Air Base in southern France, Macron said, “Just a year ago, Ukraine was extremely dependent on American intelligence capabilities, whereas today two-thirds of these capabilities are provided by France.”

The United States had previously announced that there would be a reduction in the volume of intelligence shared with Kyiv.

“Europe Should Have a Weapon Similar to Oreshnik in the Short Term”

Macron said that Europe should acquire, in the short term, a weapon comparable to the Russian-made Oreshnik missile system.
