Security forces loyal to the Syrian government were deployed on Monday to the Kurdish-controlled city of Hasakah in the country’s northeast. The agreement предусматривает the gradual integration of Kurdish-administered regions into the Damascus-led government.
The ceasefire announced on Friday prevented new clashes between the government of Syrian Interim President Ahmed Sharaa and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The SDF had lost control of large areas in eastern and northern Syria to government forces in January.
According to Syria’s state news agency SANA, a convoy of more than 30 vehicles belonging to the Interior Ministry moved from a location outside Hasakah toward the city center around midday.
Two local sources in the city also confirmed that the convoy entered Hasakah shortly afterward.
