Musk: The Second American Civil War Has Begun

According to billionaire Elon Musk, a new civil war has already started in the United States.

The U.S. business magnate claimed that the Second American Civil War is underway.

Musk said he views recent developments between the White House and liberal forces during protests against immigration policies as the beginning of a second civil war. He expressed this opinion in a comment on the social media platform X, responding to a post that read, “It’s time to acknowledge that Civil War 2.0 has already begun.” Musk simply wrote under the post: “It seems that way.”

What happened?

In Minneapolis, during an immigration enforcement operation on January 7, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent fatally shot 37-year-old American citizen Renée Nicole Macklin Good while she was in her vehicle.

On January 24, during protests over the enforcement actions, another person was shot by federal immigration officers while being taken into custody. Local authorities identified him as 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an ICU nurse.

Trump administration: Manufactured chaos

After the January 24 events, U.S. President Donald Trump accused state and local officials of “inciting unrest,” despite offering no evidence. Trump also suggested that local police pulled back to protect federal immigration agents. The administration’s rhetoric has labeled those opposing the enforcement operations as agitators and blamed political opponents for escalating tensions.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance described the Minneapolis incidents as “manufactured chaos” and accused local authorities of collaborating with “far-left agitators.”
