North Korean leader Kim Jong-un tested a newly delivered large-caliber multiple rocket launcher supplied to the military.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim Jong-un got behind the wheel of one of the newly delivered large-caliber multiple rocket launcher systems handed over to the army and the party, and drove it around the square.
It was reported that 50 domestically developed 600 mm multiple rocket launcher systems equipped with artificial intelligence were introduced at the Workers’ Party of Korea Congress and subsequently delivered to the Korean People’s Army. Kim Jong-un was said to have praised both the weapon and the workers who produced it.
The report stated, “Comrade Kim Jong-un mounted a multiple rocket launcher vehicle and personally drove it around the square, reviewing the absolute weapons majestically lined up at the Victory Square.”
Photographs released by the agency show Kim Jong-un smiling as he drove the new combat vehicle around the square, inspecting the lined-up weapons and the crowd gathered at the April 25 House of Culture Square.
Kim also declared, “Efforts to further accelerate the development of our military forces capable of powerfully suppressing all kinds of threats and external challenges will be intensified.”
