Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his commitment that Gaza will not be rebuilt unless Hamas lays down its arms.
Addressing newly commissioned officers at a military base in southern Israel, Netanyahu spoke about the situation in Gaza.
“We have reached an understanding with our friends in the United States. There will be no reconstruction of the Gaza Strip without its demilitarization,” Netanyahu said.
“Soon Hamas will face a dilemma. It will either disarm the easy way or the hard way. But it will be disarmed, and Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel,” he added.
Referring also to Iran, Netanyahu stated, “One thing is certain: If the ayatollahs make the mistake of attacking us, they will face a response beyond anything they can imagine.”
