The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Ambassador Kubanichbek Omuraliev, met with the Regional Director for Europe of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge, and signed the 2026–2027 Action Plan for the Implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation concluded between the OTS and the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
During the meeting, Secretary General Omuraliev and Regional Director Kluge discussed future avenues of cooperation between the OTS and WHO/Europe, particularly in the areas of emergency preparedness, digitalization, capacity-building programs, and environmentally sustainable health facilities.
Within the framework of the Action Plan, the two organizations will deepen their cooperation in strengthening health security, combating non-communicable diseases, promoting healthy ageing, and advancing climate-health initiatives.
The signing of the Plan establishes a clear and concrete basis for joint activities that ensure the continuity of the strategic framework established between the two organizations. This development demonstrates that the partnership is moving from the foundational planning stage toward tangible regional impact.
