U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a large number of empty oil tankers are on their way to the United States. Highlighting the country’s oil and gas capacity, Trump said, “We have the highest-quality energy resources.” He shared the message as U.S. and Iranian delegations were meeting in Pakistan for ceasefire talks.
Trump made a striking statement regarding global energy markets, noting that many large oil tankers from different parts of the world are currently heading toward the United States without cargo.
In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said the tankers are en route to load oil and natural gas in the U.S. He stated:
“Right now, many oil tankers, including some of the largest in the world, are completely empty and heading to the United States to load the best and ‘highest-quality’ oil (and gas) anywhere. We have more oil than the combined total of the next two largest oil economies — and it’s of higher quality. We are waiting for you. We expect a fast turnaround!”
