As Israeli military boats continue to intervene against the Global Sumud Flotilla, former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis stated that the Athens government is “either complicit or incapable of protecting our seas.”
Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis accused the Greek government following Israel’s intervention against the Global Sumud Flotilla near Greek territorial waters.
In a statement shared on social media, Varoufakis said he had spoken with people on board the flotilla and reported that Israeli vessels and unmanned aerial vehicles intervened against the flotilla off the coast of Crete. Targeting the Athens administration, he used the following expressions:
“The Greek government is either complicit or too weak to protect our seas from Israel.”
