Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei criticized the proposal draft presented by the United States, stating that Washington is “insisting on illogical demands.” Baghaei emphasized that Iran would not compromise on regional security or its right to end the war.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei criticized US demands, saying, “The United States continues to insist on illogical demands.”
Baghaei argued that Iran has put forward proposals aimed not only at protecting its own security but also the security of the entire region. “We did not ask for privileges. What we seek are Iran’s rights. We are simply demanding our country’s right to end the war,” he said.
The Iranian spokesperson stated that Tehran had presented “responsible proposals” to Washington and described Iran as a responsible power in the region. Baghaei added that the proposal delivered to the US was prepared in line with this understanding.
Comments on Trump’s Visit to China
Claiming that the United States continues to pursue a unilateral and excessive approach, Baghaei also commented on US President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Beijing, the capital of China.
“We hope our Chinese friends will use this opportunity to warn against the consequences of unlawful American actions,” he said.
Responding to a question about how Iran would react in the event of a new attack or if negotiations fail, Baghaei stated, “Whenever we are forced to fight, we will fight.”
Commenting on the Strait of Hormuz, Baghaei argued that the source of tensions in the region is the United States and Israel.
“Interference regarding the Strait of Hormuz will only make the issue more complicated. The problem stems from the aggression of the United States and Israel. The hostile actions carried out by the US are the main cause of instability in the region,” he said.
The Iranian spokesperson also added that the Strait of Hormuz remained open until February 28.
