U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that Washington will continue seeking a long-term agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program, regardless of Israel’s position on the matter.
Speaking to U.S. media, Vance said that the United States would continue pursuing a nuclear agreement with Iran whether Israel approves of it or not.
“The President believes, and I think he is right, that we can find a long-term solution to Iran’s nuclear issue. Israel may like it or dislike it, but fundamentally we believe that this serves the best interests of the United States,” Vance said.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump amid a new escalation in the conflict involving Iran. Trump later stated that both Israel and Iran were seeking an immediate ceasefire, but had failed to reach an agreement due to what he described as “ignorance or stupidity.”
