Israel and Greece Resume Joint Military Exercises Over the Aegean Sea

The Israeli and Greek militaries have resumed joint military exercises over the Aegean Sea following the end of the conflict with Iran, according to reports.

Israel’s Channel 12 television reported that in recent years, the two countries’ air forces have focused their cooperation on training, intelligence sharing, and preparing for complex long-range operational scenarios.

Refueling for F-16 Fighter Jets

The report stated that after the prolonged conflict with Iran came to an end, joint military exercises over the Aegean Sea resumed, with the Israeli military providing aerial refueling support to Greek F-16 fighter jets.

“Not a Random Choice”

According to the report, the exercise is part of Israel’s broader strategic plan and its alliance in the Eastern Mediterranean aimed at countering Türkiye. It added that the decision was “not a random choice.”

Naval Commanders Met in June

In June, Greek Navy Commander Dimitrios Evangelos Kataras visited Israel, where he held talks with Israeli Navy Commander Eyal Harel.
