More than 260,000 people have been evacuated in Liaoning Province as Typhoon Bavi continues to batter northeastern and eastern China.
Authorities remain on high alert as the storm impacts large parts of the country. In Liaoning, where the typhoon made landfall, more than 260,000 residents have been relocated to safer areas, while schools and workplaces in several cities have been temporarily closed.
In the provincial capital, Shenyang, authorities issued a red alert for flooding. Outdoor events, large public gatherings, and some train services have also been canceled as a precaution against the severe weather.
