Beijing has called on Washington to abandon threats of using force against Cuba, lift its unilateral sanctions, and end the embargo imposed on the island following reports alleging that the United States is preparing for a possible military operation against Cuba.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the United States to cease its threats of using force against Cuba and to remove the unilateral sanctions and embargo.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that the U.S. should put an end to its policy of military pressure and intimidation toward Cuba, as well as lift its unilateral sanctions and the embargo.
Mao emphasized that China will continue to support Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and resisting external interference. She added that Beijing will keep working with other countries to uphold international justice and fairness.
