Spanish authorities stated that approximately 69,500 irregular migrants have returned to Morocco over the past 30 hours, adding that no new large-scale attempts to cross the border were recorded overnight.
Death Toll Rises to 67
Spain’s Ministry of the Interior announced that the number of irregular migrants who lost their lives while attempting to cross from Morocco into Ceuta has increased to 67.
According to officials, most of the fatalities were caused by drowning at sea and by crowd crushes that occurred amid heavy congestion along the border.
