Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that preparations are underway for a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN meetings in the Philippine capital, Manila.
Zakharova stated that efforts are being made to arrange talks between Lavrov and Rubio during the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) events in Manila.
Speaking to Sputnik, Zakharova said, “Preparations are underway for a meeting between Lavrov and Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN events in Manila.”
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had indicated that he was ready to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit.
