Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that negotiations between Tehran and Washington on a final agreement will not begin if the United States continues its threats. Araghchi also called on Washington to honor the interim agreement signed last month.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that negotiations on a final agreement between Iran and the United States will not commence as long as the U.S. continues its threats.
In a post on his social media account, Araghchi wrote, “Negotiations on a final agreement will not begin if threats continue. Honor the agreement you signed.”
He also added, “Millions of proud Iranians have come together to honor Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his legacy. Neither they nor our brave armed forces will bow to any threat.”
The Iranian foreign minister’s remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that if no agreement is reached, “we will finish the job.”
The interim agreement, signed last month between Iran and the United States, stipulates that both parties will refrain from using force or threatening to use force against one another.
