Poland has announced that it will begin procedures to ban Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from entering the country following allegations of mistreatment toward activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla. The United Kingdom has also joined the countries summoning the Israeli ambassador to the foreign ministry for explanations.
Polish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maciej Wewior stated:
“Foreign Minister Sikorski has decided to request the Interior Ministry to impose an entry ban on Ben-Gvir due to his behavior.”
Footage from the incident showed a female activist shouting “Free Palestine” as Ben-Gvir passed by, while Israeli police officers forcefully intervened and pushed the woman to the ground. During the incident, Ben-Gvir was heard saying, “This is exactly how it should be done.”
