US Strikes 140 Targets, Iran Launches Attacks on US Bases

The Iranian military has reportedly launched large-scale missile and drone attacks against what it described as “enemy bases” in the region in retaliation for ongoing US strikes.

According to Iranian media, the Iranian armed forces carried out extensive retaliatory attacks using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against “enemy bases” across the region.

In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said:

“Helicopter maintenance and repair facilities belonging to the US military at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, the hangar housing a P-8 electronic warfare aircraft, and the UAV command and control center were targeted. In Jordan, large missile storage facilities and fuel depots at Prince Hassan Air Base were struck with missiles and drones. Additionally, fuel storage facilities and the Patriot air defense system at the US base in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait, as well as the strategic FPS radar system at Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base, were among the targets of the retaliatory operations.”

The IRGC added that the retaliatory operations would continue and warned that the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran.

Two Ships Intercepted

The IRGC also announced that it had intercepted two vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without authorization while allegedly operating with their tracking systems turned off.

Sirens sounded across Bahrain following the Iranian attacks, with authorities urging residents to move to safe locations.

Jordanian media reported that flights at the capital, Amman, were temporarily suspended due to the Iranian missile attacks.

CENTCOM: “We Struck 140 Targets”

In a statement issued yesterday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) provided details of its latest military operations against Iran.

In its most recent statement, CENTCOM said:

“On July 12, CENTCOM completed a new wave of strikes against Iran. During the operation, dozens of targets at multiple locations were struck with precision-guided munitions in order to degrade Iran’s capability to continue attacks against international maritime traffic transiting the Strait of Hormuz.”

In an earlier statement, CENTCOM had said:

“At 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time today, CENTCOM forces initiated a new series of strikes against Iran to further degrade its capability to attack civilian shipping and commercial vessels freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz.”

The US Central Command also stated that the latest operation, conducted in response to what it described as Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, struck approximately 140 military targets.
