Zakharova: NATO Is Losing the Last Remnants of Its Rationality

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said NATO, in its pursuit of extracting the maximum benefit from Ukraine, is losing the last remnants of its rationality.

Zakharova stated that NATO has lost what remained of its rational judgment through its anti-Russian plans, turning Ukraine into a testing ground and pushing it into a high-risk environment.

Commenting on NATO’s policies toward Russia, Zakharova said:

“NATO, together with Kyiv, is preparing to develop weapons capable of destroying Russian air bases, including those located deep inside Russian territory.”

She also stressed that Kyiv is intensifying its attempts to push NATO into a direct armed confrontation with Russia in an effort to reverse what she described as Ukraine’s desperate situation.

According to Zakharova, the destructive consequences of such actions are being deliberately ignored by NATO strategists, while the danger of the Ukraine crisis escalating “horizontally” is being seriously underestimated.

Reiterating that NATO has lost the remaining elements of rationality by turning Ukraine into a testing ground and driving it into an increasingly dangerous security environment, Zakharova concluded:

“The recklessness of NATO and Kyiv is giving the Russian military greater justification to focus on enterprises that manufacture weapons used against Russia.”
