“Pentagon Plans to Reduce U.S. Participation in NATO”

It has been reported that the Pentagon is planning to reduce U.S. participation in various NATO advisory groups by not replacing personnel whose terms of duty have ended.

According to reports, the U.S. Department of Defense intends to scale back U.S. involvement in several NATO advisory bodies.

Based on sources cited by The Washington Post, the upcoming move is expected to affect approximately 200 military personnel and will primarily lead to a reduction in U.S. participation at NATO’s 30 Centers of Excellence, which train alliance forces on key elements of modern warfare.

According to the report, rather than carrying out a one-time withdrawal, the Pentagon plans to refrain from appointing new personnel to replace those whose assignments expire. However, it is noted that U.S. participation in the activities of these centers will not come to a complete end.
