Trump: I Have Started Building a Major Military Complex at the White House

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that construction has begun on a large military complex within the White House grounds.

Speaking at an event in Las Vegas, Trump revealed that a major military complex is currently being built as part of the White House.

During his remarks, Trump said:

“Last week, I started building a major military complex. It includes many different elements, and there are some of them that I simply cannot talk about.”

Following Trump’s return to office, the White House underwent a broad renovation process. As part of the project, the East Wing was demolished to make way for a new grand ballroom designed to host large-scale receptions. As of March 2026, the estimated cost of the ballroom project was approximately $600 million.

In addition, Trump confirmed in July that a helicopter landing pad had been constructed on the White House South Lawn. He stated that the project was financed by Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin.
