The Kremlin said that the meeting held yesterday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Ahmad Sharaa focused on economic relations between the two countries.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov answered questions on the international agenda during today’s press briefing.
Sharing details of the meeting that took place in Moscow yesterday between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his Syrian counterpart Ahmad Sharaa, Peskov said: “The meeting yesterday focused primarily on bilateral trade and economic relations.”
Stating that Moscow and Damascus have significant potential for trade cooperation and mutual interests, the Kremlin spokesman added that the issue of Russian military bases in Syria was also discussed during the meeting. Peskov noted that the extradition of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was not addressed at the meeting.
