Lavrov: We Are Working to Build an Equal Security Architecture in Eurasia

Emphasizing that Russia is interested in establishing honest international cooperation, Lavrov stated that special importance is attached to the implementation of bilateral agreements, particularly those with Belarus, North Korea, and Iran.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a video message released on the occasion of Diplomats’ Day that they are working on creating an equal and indivisible security architecture in Eurasia.

Lavrov noted, “At the initiative of President Vladimir Putin, we are working to establish an equal and indivisible security architecture and broad-based practical cooperation across the Eurasian space.”

Recalling that Moscow is interested in honest international cooperation based on the principles of mutual understanding, trust, and good neighborliness, the Russian diplomat said, “In this context, we attach special importance to the conclusion and implementation of bilateral agreements. These include agreements on security guarantees with Belarus, as well as comprehensive strategic partnerships established with North Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Lavrov had previously stated that such a system could prevent attempts to launch new wars.
