Starmer and Trump Hold Talks: ‘We’ve Moved to the Next Phase of the Solution Process’

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, as well as the reopening process of the Strait of Hormuz, during a phone call.

Prime Minister Starmer held a telephone conversation with President Trump, during which they evaluated the current situation regarding the two-week ceasefire declared between the U.S. and Iran and developments in the Strait of Hormuz.

During the call, Starmer emphasized the necessity of reopening the Strait of Hormuz and briefed Trump on his ongoing contacts with Gulf leaders and military officials in the region. He also highlighted the United Kingdom’s efforts to bring together international partners to reach consensus on a workable plan.

Both leaders agreed that the ceasefire is currently in effect, that there is a mutual understanding on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and that the process has now moved into the next phase aimed at achieving a lasting solution.
