Trump: If We Can’t Reach a Deal with Iran, We May Have to Bomb Again

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the military option could be put back on the table if no agreement is reached with Iran. Trump also noted that the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is ongoing.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his way back to Washington after visiting the state of Arizona, Trump stated that a potential agreement with Iran is not directly linked to the ceasefire in Lebanon. “In reality, they are not connected, but we can say they are psychologically linked. We will help Lebanon,” he said.

“We Will Bring Iran’s Uranium to the U.S.”

Touching on the issue of removing enriched uranium from Iran, Trump said they want the process to be carried out under U.S. control. “We will go into Iran, work with them, and bring 100 percent of it to the United States,” he said, adding that alternative methods would be considered if no deal is reached.

“If we cannot reach an agreement, we will do it in a very different way — and not in a very friendly way,” Trump warned.

Blockade Continues

Responding to a question about whether the ceasefire would be extended if no agreement is reached, Trump emphasized that the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is still in effect.

“Maybe I won’t extend it, but our blockade continues. You are under blockade, and unfortunately, we may have to start bombing again,” he said.
