Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia will achieve all the objectives of its special military operation, stressing that “no one can bring the Russian people to their knees. That has never happened, and it never will.”
Putin made the remarks during a meeting at the Kremlin with members of the 8th State Duma whose terms have come to an end. He emphasized that the state, the people, and society would stand together to accomplish all the goals of the special military operation and do everything necessary to secure victory.
The Russian leader stated that the special military operation would continue until all of its objectives are achieved.
“We will accomplish our goals, and together we will do everything for victory and for Russia,” Putin said.
“A new world order is taking shape”
Describing the current international environment as one of intense global competition, Putin said:
“Within this struggle, the outlines of a new world order are taking shape. What is at stake today is the future of our people and of Russia. This is by no means an exaggeration; this is exactly how things stand.”
He added that throughout history, the multinational Russian people have always responded to major challenges and external pressure with unity, and that the same spirit continues today.
“Sanctions have failed and are hurting the West”
Putin argued that since 2022, the West has been operating what he called a “Russophobic machine” at full speed and has imposed a record number of sanctions on Russia.
“The West has set two world records at once: the number of so-called sanctions and their complete ineffectiveness. These restrictions are harming their own creators, architects, and the people of Europe more than anyone else,” he said.
“Our opponents turned to terrorism after failing on the battlefield”
Putin stated that Russia’s political system and state institutions are built on constitutional principles and sovereign foundations, adding that the country is capable of responding decisively to any hostile actions.
Claiming that Russia’s adversaries had failed to achieve their objectives on the battlefield, he said they had resorted to terrorist methods instead.
“No one can subjugate the Russian people. That has never happened, and it never will,” Putin declared.
Priorities: Defense, economy, and social support
Putin described the past five years as one of the most difficult and critical periods in Russia’s modern history, emphasizing that the government’s strategic decisions have been centered on the genuine interests of Russian citizens.
He said the country’s priorities for the next three-year budget would be strengthening national defense, achieving social development goals, and supporting the economy.
Putin also pledged that Russia would continue pursuing ambitious goals aimed at improving citizens’ living standards and reducing poverty.
