A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministries of Health of Türkiye and Syria to enhance cooperation in the fields of health and medical sciences. Under the agreement, the two countries will collaborate in numerous areas, including public health protection, combating communicable diseases, and improving maternal and child healthcare.
It was announced that the Ministry of Health of Türkiye and the Ministry of Health of Syria signed the memorandum to strengthen cooperation in health and medical sciences.
According to a statement by Turkish Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, the memorandum was signed with his Syrian counterpart, Dr. Musaab Nazzal Alali, during official contacts in Syria.
Minister Memişoğlu stated:
“Within the scope of the agreement, we have reached a consensus on strengthening health systems, particularly in the areas of public health protection, combating communicable diseases, and maternal and child health. We have also agreed to cooperate through the exchange of knowledge and technical expertise in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, vaccine development, and medical biotechnology. Furthermore, the agreement covers disaster and emergency management, health information systems, and the promotion of health tourism. I believe that this agreement will further advance our cooperation with Syria in the field of health, and I hope it will bring benefits to both our countries.”
